Any Panama City or PCB open water swim groups out there? We will be down visiting my parents from March 14th until the 20th. I was wondering if there were any organized swims in the gulf. Also looking for possible bike and run hook-ups as well.

I’ll keep you posted on anything I hear. Quite a few heading over to New Orleans the first of April, so there might be an open water swim. Our longer rides are on the weekends. We will be riding this Sunday up 81 from Bruce.

SYD, you can contact Freedom sports, I will call and see if we can get an open water swim set up. It would be Sunday as we have a 50 miler on Tyndall AFB on Saturday. I have been talking about getting these started again, last year we did a 10 mile run followed by a swim behind Spinnaker if that is something you would be interested in. The other swim is over at Bid A Wee beach, it is 1/2 mile between condos so a out and back is a 1 mile swim and we can do a run before or after. Make sure and bring your wetsuit it is still in the upper 50’s water temp wise. We are looking at some rain this weekend so a swim would be just the ticket.

Nah. He’s referring to a part of Michigan where Dow Chemical dumped enough waste product into local waterways over a couple decades that entire river systems are essentially Superfund sites.
Swim in there, and you might end up growing gills. (Which actually wouldn’t be too bad from a triathlon standpoint, but still…)
