PC installation question

I’ve been riding my PC’s now for about 3 weeks without problem. But I have noticed that I can’t get the non-drive side tightened as much as the drive side, because when you turn the bolt, the crankarm rotates backwards. Pushing the pedal down with the opposite hand works pretty well, but I’ve got my torque wrench set to 312 inch-pounds, and I can’t get to that tightness on the bolt. Does anybody have an inventive solution to this?

To be fair, the bolt has not loosened in three weeks. I just started thinking about it because tomorrow looks good for my first outdoor ride of the season (hooray!). I think I’ll carry an 8mm wrench in my pocket to be sure.

Thanks,

-Colin

With the chain on the spider hold the rear wheel for resistance. Another way is to put the left crank on backwards and use if for counterforce, then turn it around and put the left back on correctly.

alternatively - just stick a big-ass screwdriver thru the spider and butt up against the seatstay/frame/seattube/whatever. brace said screwdriver with yer elbow or knee or somethin - you’ll figure it out.
