PC bike -- beater for the trainer or "fixie"

Yeah, I know, throwing the PCs on a fixie make it no longer a fixie, but rather a single speed with the PC clutch as the freewheel (terminology is probably wrong).

Anyway, I want to put my PCs on a dedicated PC bike so that I can keep my TF free for a weekly 6-8 hour session. The PC bike will probably be in use 2-3 times a week for 1-2 hours, plus 2 hours a night on the trainer watching TdF.

Options include an old GT aluminum bike or a Bianchi Pista, both about $250.

I’m kinda leaning towards the Pista since I could adjust the tension on the trainer to get my best PC “gearing” plus I would have a fun fixie to ride from time to time. Slightly worried that the fixie wouldn’t work too well with the PCs. I know I would have to install an octalink BB to accept the PCs.

Other than the usual “PCs suck”“why bother”“Frank Day is a snake oil salesman”“PCs rock” comments, any suggestions?
Thanks.

Beater for the trainer is what I’d do…whatever beater that takes sweat the best.
