Does anyone aside from me think its insane of USAT to expect their Worlds 2008 qualifiers from this years nations to sign up by yesterday? Has anyone every inquired as to why USAT needs the money for that trip a year in advance? I can understand them wanting a firm commitment but why the money? Perhaps this is an ITU issue?
This is a real annoyance but one of seemingly many with USAT these days. Oh and before anyone says “yes we know, you qualified for worlds in 2008” You should know that i didnt but i found myself in the position of paying for someone who did.

USAT the new IMNA in regards to entry fees?
The difference is that demand drives IMNA’s early sign up policy and from what i can tell greed drives USAT/ITU’s (thats not to say that IMNA isnt greedy).
I suspect that ITU worlds, just based on the 3 that i have been to, could stay open for 6 months and not sell out. Last year team USA rolled down to 25 and i think beyond even though they said they wouldnt. It may be a little different being in North Am but my guess is it wont be.
Are you sure paying up is a firm committment? For duathlon world’s they said that you could get a 275 refund.

Yeah, we got our money back after backing out on Newcastle DU worlds but it specifically stated that you could on the website. I didnt see anything about a refund of the website this time around.
