I don’t know if I even have a shot at getting a spot in worlds.
My coach told me to bring a check just in case.
Annnmd I forgot.
Would cash from an ATM fly or no?
Credit card?
Just wondering if anyone knows.

cash is usually all that is accepted overseas. Credit card in the US. No checks.
[Whew. OK. So where do I put the card? Special needs bag?
I won’t be happy running 13.1 with a cc in my hand.
Where do you plan to put your phone, wallet, car/rental keys, house/hotel keys? I’d probably put your cc in the same place.
Well all of those things I was planning on leaving at my girls parents home.
If you’re leaving those things at home, is someone going to be at the race with you? Or are you just getting dropped off?
Either way I wouldn’t leave all my forms of ID, communication, and currency in a place where I can’t access them. Bring a bag into transition and keep your CC there.
As per page 22 of the Raleigh athlete guide:
Fifty (50) Age Group qualifying slots for the 2014 IRONMAN 70.3
World Championship (September 7, 2014 at Mont-Tremblant, Quebec,
Canada) will be awarded to the top Age Group finishers. Final Slot
Allocation will be determined on race day based on the number of
official starters. Qualified athletes MUST claim their slot in-person on
Sunday, June1, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at City Plaza/Finish Line. Be
prepared to pay the $400.00 CAD entry fee with credit card ONLY. We
will not accept cash or check as a valid form of payment. All unclaimed
slots will be rolled down to the next eligible finishers beginning after the
Awards Ceremony at 4 p.m.
Page 22 also talks to the roll-down.
As for where to store your credit card – you’ll be allowed back into transition after the race. I’d store it somewhere in and among your transition bag. It isn’t likely to get stolen. After you finish, they’ll be posting the results, and should have available information on how many slots went to each AG. There will be people set up with computers ready to take your money if you earned it flat-out. They’ll likely be under a tent. If you can’t find them, I am sure one of the officials can point you in the right direction. If you didn’t earn a slot, then wait for roll-down. It will be right in front of those people with computers.
