has anyone done the patriots half 70.3 in virginia. I was thinking about doing it this year as i am pretty close by at UVa.
I’m still deciding to do it, as I have moved to richmond area now. They didnt do the “half” last year due to the tropical storm that hit the area right before the race. I’ve heard its a fun course. So they are letting all racers who signed up last year have half off fees this year. I’m more than likely going to do it. Mostly flat course, swim is in James River (kinda nasty, but not too bad).
yeah i pulled out before the race last year due to a foot injury.
It was a hurricane.
The course is flat and fast but it will almost certainly be hot.
I did the Int’l last year and the run down Colonial Parkway was insanely hot. No shade. The half will have a bit more shade. I went to w&m so we biked the roads the half goes on about a billion times. Definitely could produce a fast bike split.
