Watching these interviews on Fox and CNN just leaves you muttering, “What the fu$k?” Don’t know if the dude is nuts, embellishing some amount of truth, telling the truth, trolling, attention seeking, or something else. The interviews certainly lean towards nuts, but who knows…
He’s just the most recent character to emerge from the real-life House of Cards we live in. Nothing surprises me anymore…
If that stuff is really true - holy shit!
Who is Patrick Byrne?
Guess I will google him.
I love that he’s revealed that the Deep State is working against Trump and Hillary Clinton. Usually Hillary is at like the center of the Deep State, like a comic-book arch-villain. It’s good to hear she’s just a hapless victim, effectively destroyed by the Deep State and relegated to retirement.

Did he really have an affair with the Russian chick? The story and how he is telling it is so weird it is hard to know if he is telling the truth or if he had a psychotic break.

Tough to say. It’s possible. He ran a popular conspiracy site that would be just the sort of things that Russian agents would promote (undermining faith in U.S. institutions), so they might have run in the same circles.
It makes me wonder about some of the personalities who run conspiracy sites. Which of them are just shrewdly monetizing the human instinct towards fear and conspiracy, and which of them are True Believers? And do some of them involuntarily descend into their own pit? Alex Jones is another one who seemed to start out as a shrewd guy, but then came at least partly unhinged. Breitbart seemed to keep his head on his shoulders. Stephen Bannon has gone really weird, having turn from an “America First” guy to this weird Euro-obsessed guy with a conception of “nationalism” that is no longer American-branded.
I think “gone really weird” in Bannon’s case is he’s a Machiavelli for hire and at the moment smells more opportunity in Europe
.

Yeah, he’s probably in the “monetizer” camp. It’s just weird that he’s completely abandoned his “American” identity, and become an agent of foreign political movements. E.g. his political ideas used to center around returning to an American ideal based on the Founding Fathers/Constitution. Now his political ideal is sort of medieval ethnic purity that pre-dates the American colonies.
got it. Maybe some psychodrama there – not a lot of purity evident in his personal presentation. Anyway back to Byrne, another florid wackadoo
