Patellar tendonitis and worn-out cleats?

I’ve heard somewhere that worn-out cleats can cause patellar tendonitis, but I’m not sure if that’s accurate or not. ctips doesn’t say one way or the other. anybody know one way or the other?
thanks.

I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but “worn out” cleats should provide a little more “float”. Most people with knee problems want MORE float (i.e. Speedplays) to help take the stresses off the knee, not less.

I’ve had patella tendonitis, I’ve had worn out cleats, I’ve had both at the same time and I believe there is a link, however, I wouldn’t say it is cause and effect.

Other issues such as poor bikefit, poor flexibility, dodgy biomechanics and mucle imbalanaces (VMO vs VLO etc) are likely to be bigger contributors, but at least the worn out cleats are easier to fix than a new bike, pilates lessons, orthotics, pedal wedges and a gym membership

PS when my knees start to hurt, I buy a new pair of running shoes and a new set of cleats and they seem to get better
