Hello all –
I’ve got a pretty new pear izumi tri-top with a little hole in it – probably a little under .25 inch wide. So, not a big deal now, but I’d like to stop it from getting any bigger.
The whole is my fault, btw.
How can I fix it? The fabric doesn’t look like one where I could sew it up. Is there any sort of tape/glue I could use? Any other options?
Thanks,
-charles
you can indeed hand sew it, but if you don’t know a lot about sewing/tailoring, just take it to a tailor (the stitching will look like a little skin graft). also, if you want to patch, there is a company called The Green Pepper that sells all those wonderful technical fabrics for those of us who like to make out own stuff! all kinds of lycras, goretex covered vinyls, technical tshirt poly blends, on and on. very cool. also lots of replacement parts, like gussets, o-rings, plastic clips, zippers, etc.
Local fabric store will probably have fashion lycra for swimsuits and ice skating costumes, etc. Vogue Fabric in chicago would be able to order as well. or just go if you’re close.
Thanks for the feedback.
If you’re making your own tri clothing, your skills are way past mine! i like the patching idea, i’m going to look into the Green Pepper.
