Pat Tillman Article

<<This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read here (I’m still laughing):

“I choose to put service to my country and my fellow citizens ahead of my own economic, personal, and safety priorities. Under my Constitution, I serve at the direction of the President and Commander-in-Chief. I trust my life totally in the wisdom of the people and their elected representatives.” >>

I don’t know if you’re just trying to piss people off, or what. If so, I’ll admit that it’s working- you’re starting to piss me off.

Do you have any clue whatsoever about the people who serve in the military? What tri_bri2 said is exactly correct. That’s exactly the statement those who volunteer for the military make, and it offends me that you’d so casually mock the nobility of such a statement.

Or maybe you don’t think we need a military at all? Or maybe you think that the men and women of the military should be able to decide for themselves what orders they want to follow. Or maybe you’re just an ass.

You’re right. That was inspiring. Thanks.

I think Kerouac is a bot.

No, there’s no bot here. Just a sniping jackass who’s getting himself off.

If GJB gives up everything he has, including his life, to fight for something that will benefit Halliburton more than it benefits himself … he will be a hero. I’m confident GJB will NEVER do that.

but why do you or mickey z get to say that tillman or gjb giving up their life in the middle east is something that benefits halliburton more than it would themselves? it should be good enough that they felt their service benefited themselves and their friends more.

or was it that tillman was indoctrinated/manipulated into believing that he was helping himself more than corporate america? but if that’s the case and we are so easily manipulated then why aren’t more people enlisting?

Well, he does at least have the courage to post his name and hometown.

I would recommend a book for you to read called “Keeping Faith” by Schaeffer and Schaeffer. It is the story of a father, a reporter/writer who was cynical as you are and who felt that military service was below the station of himself and family in life. Then his son joined the Marine Corps…

They don’t. They certainly try to, but they fail miserably.

I’m done with this jackass. He’s boring.

To paraphrase General George Patton “no damn fool ever won a war by dying for his country. The way to win a war is to stay alive and make the other damn fool die for his country”.
