any good places to have fri/saturday night carbo load dinner?
I haven’t heard of any place that’s having a ‘Pre-Race Carbo Load Dinner’ special’ but I guess its time to post my annual ‘where to eat in CdA’ note:
Good mid priced eats:
Pho Thanh Noodle Cafe - I-90 and 4th St. Vietnamese noodle place, basic but good.
Capone’s Pub and Grill up on 4th street in mid town (about 8 blocks north of downtown) great beer, good pizza and pub food. There’s a new Italian place a block North of Capone’s that I’ve heard good things about but I haven’t eaten there yet.
Wine Cellar on Sherman Ave and about 3rd (downstairs, below the street level. Great Wine, very good food, not too expensive.
Moon Time Pub down on 16th and Sherman Ave (East end of the main street) great beer, great pub food. They also run ‘The Porch’ up in Hayden on the Avondale golf course. It’s a bit more of a restaurant than pub but still great beer.
White House in Post Falls just off the freeway, Mediterranean/Greek with LOTS of garlic.
Classic North Idaho steak joint - Wolf Lodge Steakhouse East of Town along I-90 (take the Wolf Lodge exit and head E a mile or so on the N side of the freeway)
Rogers Ice Cream in on Sherman - a classic…
And of course Hudson’s Hamburgers in downtown - its been there for something like 100 years - a true local classic.
For Pasta/Italian food try:
Tony’s Supper club which is out near the end of the Run Course. It has new owner/chief and has be re-done, quite nice but not as cheap as some of the above places.
Tito Macaroni - Passable Italian food - right downtown in the ‘Resort Shops’ building on Sherman Ave.
There’s an Olive Garden up north a few miles on highway 95
