In the market for a new bike. What scenario is best.
Sell existing Guru Tri’Ti as a complete bike, which is all 10 spd Dura Ace with Mavic Kysrium training wheels. Bike is a couple of years old.
or
Buy better frame like like a Scott Plasma 2 ($3,400) vs buying a complete bike like a Plasma10 that comes with Ultegra for $3,700. Or a QR CD 0.1 frame ($3,400) versus a complete QR bike with ultegra. Looking at several other frames/bikes from Trek, Felt, Argon, P3
I would think the best option is to get the better frame that you want, take the parts of the Guru to put on the new frame and sell the Guru as just frame/fork. I’ve done that a few times over the years and it is the cheaper option vs. selling the whole bike and buying all new. Plus you get a higher end frame that way.
If you are talking bang for the buck then the P2 is king. You can’t beat the aerodynamics vs. price. If you really want good bang for the buck buy someone’s used P2 or P3 off eBay. There are a lot of folks who buy a bike, don’t actually train, decide to sell bike, and then are forced to let it go for pretty low prices. This time of year is great for that because people have checked their IM box and school is starting up. As winter approaches another crowd will try to ditch their bikes because they know it will sit all winter while the snow is on the ground.
Since your components are already top end then just buy a frame and swap everything over.
