The cruelest thing about this is that this guy became a paralympic athlete after another accident with a car in 2001 that caused him to lose the use of one of his legs.

I saw the story on the BBC website today which says the driver has been arrested. Thoughts go out to Simon Richardson as he fights to overcome a multitude of injuries, I believe his condition is stable. He has shown great courage in the past to get back into the sport he loves so much, though a considerable set back for his 2012 ambitions I will be keeping an eye out for him hoping he can make it back on the bike and you never know possibly to London next year, it will be a tragedy if he doesn’t get there now.
My only hope is that if/when this case gets to court justice will be seen to be done, personally I am getting sick and tired of hearing of cycling related accidents, often fatal, four I know of in my region in the past year, and justice never ever seems to be done.
