if you’ve noticed a few people missing from the forum today…
you all are here on the old, existing forum. there is another parallel forum with a new web host, on new server. but we’re not supposed to be there yet. the reason i think you’re all here is because you get to the forum by clicking the forum button on the home page. but those who bookmarked the forum and get to it THAT way are going to a URL something like:
http://www.slowtwitch.com/cgi-bin/gforum.cgi
which routes you to…
http://newforum.slowtwitch.com
this absolute URL will take you to the new heretofore untested (until 10AM this morning) forum on the new box without the data having been dumped (since december 17th). we were not ready to test this yet. but – for those who’re there – the new box does run a lot faster.
what this means is, half our forum readers/posters are busy raising hell on the old forum (you guys), to which you’d get if you’d go to slowtwitch’s home page and just click on the forum button. your half of the forum, with the old captain kirk, are here…

what you’ll see when you’re here, btw, is a much slower loading forum. but as far as i can tell, the traffic is roughly evenly split between the old and new, so it’s an elegant, if unintended, test (we never even thought about those who’ve bookmarked the old forum and get to it that way).
