Painful pedals...IT band

I’ve been riding Shimano pedals since I’ve been riding and have never been able to really get them just right, it seems like I can’t make them perfectly symmetrical. In other words I can’t duplicate the feel on my right foot as my left and all the adjusting is getting to be a pain (literally) so I wanted to know if any of you speedplayers like your pedals and do they even need adjusting? I would like to take this variable out of my pedal stroke if possible. Let me know before I spend any money that I don’t have.

Thanks ST:)

Not sure I understand exactly what you are describing, but I had this problem for 20 years until Rroof suggested that it might be my feet. Voia. Cleat wedges fixed an undiagnosed 5.5* of forefoot varus and now I’m home free!

Don’t know if that’s what you meant by symmetrical, but I never felt like my right was tracking like my left…

same as other guy said.
get a fitting done, one that pays attention to your cleat interface, knee tracking, foot angle, etc.

you’d probably laugh if you saw the number of wedges between my cleat and my shoe, but i’ll be damned if it didn’t eliminate every knee problem and foot hot spot.

Yea that’s kind of it, although I don’t know if it’s something that a varus wedge would help with or not. It always feel’s like my left is more toe out than my right…despite numerous attempts at making them the same both left and right. I know that Specialized makes their shoes with the wedge built in so I thought about those too. Anyway, I’m open to suggestions.

Two things, maybe three. Wedges under your cleats are crap, I bet one foot is larger than the other and finally hop over to my site and take a look at Keywin pedals.

Cheers,

Those are very interesting…but what is the actual pedal made from? Is it plastic…if so I would think durability would be an issue.

yes, very durable and hands down the best pedal I have ever use and I have been through some pretty pricey options.
