Yea that makes sense.
Still not sure it’s an ITB issue - they don’t think it is - but I’m definitely working on that- I haven’t had any ITB issues for some years now though since I’ve been foam rolling.
I don’t heelstrike - more of a mid-forefoot striker (I transitioned into minimalist footwear about 6 yrs ago) but I am going to be working on glute strength.

FWIW, I have the same exact thing you have. I have had it for two years, basically ever since I took up running. It resolved for a few months after doing the following: cutting back on mileage, doing lots of hip hikes, glut exercises, rubber band side steps (monster walk), some transverse abdominis activation, and switching from running on the street to treadmill. I managed to go through 3 races this spring without it flaring up, then ramped up my run mileage and boom its back. PM me if you need to know anything more. Best of luck in your recovery.
