Pain Free Triathlete

I picked up this book last night at the local tri shop. Did some of their stretches for lower back pain (iliopsoas ‘hip flexor’ stretches) and put some elbow pressure on tight spots on the upper quads and then had my first night of pain free sleep in as long as I can remember. So far the book is worth its weight in gold…For all you PC guys out there - these stretches really seem to help loosen up my legs/hips after riding. Anyone else read this book?

I also have had a good experience with the same book. Good self-massages for my ITB!!! The trigger point charts are very valuable to diagnose hard to find ailments…

I’m another fan of this book. Deep tissue massage is the way forward (you just have to take the pain), and the book gives sensible advice for self-application, plus some good stretches. I had been having problems with my calves and feet hurting during/after running, and using the advice in the book largely cured these issues in one evening. Prior to this I had been considering abandoning Pose-type running and buying some stability shoes with big-ass heels, but the problem was muscle spasms, not the running style.
