So I am getting ready for IMCDA and was packing my QR PicanTi in a bike case (Tri 3 or something). It became clear to me the only way it was going to work was to remove the Syntace C2 aerobars from the base bars. If I left them connected and sat the rig down the shifters stuck too far in the air.
Is this typical to have to break down this far? What a major pain in the ass this was. Also does anyone know if there are wight limits for bike cases as I put a bunch of other stuff in there and it must weigh close to 50lbs now.
Uh…don’t take the clip ons off…much easier to just pull the base bars (with clip ons still attached) and velcro them to the bike. Should take all of about 5 minutes.
Yeah, most bike cases will require the removal of the aerobars. Get a socket wrench and quit whining. Yeah there is a weight limit but I think that it’s higher than 50 lbs. I’ve stuffed a lot of shit in my Trico and I’ve never had a problem. The Big Kahuna would know for sure – you might try emailing him (works for the airlines). Have a good trip and better race!
