I’m deciding how to build my new P4. What are thoughts on the type of base/aero bar combo I should install? Kind of wavering between 3T Brezza, USE, and that cool Vision bar Fabian was rocking at TOC. THoughts?
Find the one with the smallest frontal area that you are very comfortable on.
Consider: vision, easton attack, HED, Felt Brezza, 3T
you can get great deals on visions fully integrated setups but they are extreme limited in adjustability, and not very light. very aero though.

does the 3t brezza have clip-ons that attach? i didn’t think so, but i remember, or thought i did, seeing the garmin guys using a 3t base bar with clip ons. this way they could do the floyd/levi high hand position.
3T does have a clip on that for some reason I could not find on their site other than in a press release. I did however find a picture today of the clip ons from them. I could not find out any more information than what is in the picture and the weight of the pro at 445g and the team at 365g I really do not see any advantage going with these over say a HED that comes in at 295g. Also it looks like 3T used their design a bit here but did not learn to put the extension screws up between the clamps instead of beneith like HED did. Would also allow you to make some custom brackets to hold computers/garmin/power meters and such.

Have you thought about the HED Black Dog or Vantage. The Black Dog is nice with built in brake levers but uses a 31.8 diameter clamp size which does not make sense to me when you want as small of a frontal aero as possible when the Vantage uses a 26.0 diamter clamp size. I know it is probably a very small difference but I am sure there is a difference.
Both will allow you to have the basebar parrallel to the ground while allowing you to tilt up the extensions if this is a position that you can ride comfortable. The Black dog is 630g while the Vantage is 590 but allows you to pick your own brake levers.
I just built my P4 with Syntace CX base bar and C3 clip ons. About 561 grams in Medium size. They are super comfortable and light.
That is a great weight and I have always loved the Syntace stuff before I moved over to HED. I like the simple yet effective approach that Syntace takes to their aerobars.
Those 3T clip-on’s look cool. I can’t find any info about them. So - does 3T make a base bar that you can mount clip-on’s onto? I thought the Brezza was that way, but now I don’t think so. The bar in the image on the P4 is the Brezza, right? It has aero extesions that are specific to that bar. I want something that has angle adjustability.

Click here to be able to zoom in on the bar.
Yes, those seem to be the Brezza-Bars. I have them coming, should arrive today or tomorrow. I’ll post a small review if you want.
Now I’m getting nervous. Another thread says P2/P3/P4 may not be UCI legal? Crap. What am I going to use for Le Tour?
Wrap duct tape around the seat tube until its fat enough?
lol

All I see is a whole bunch of frontal area that is wasted… and a big ol’ brake arm+cable out in the wind…

All that work on the back end and the front end leaves a lot to be desired…

3T Brezza or Ventus??? I was leaning towards the Ventus. What are your thoughts?

did you ever do any field testing comparing a felt to a cervelo?
The aero or die looks great other than that horrible cable run and PT wire sticking way out into the wind. Is there a better way to run them out of the wind.
your saddle is too… WTF IS YOUR SADDLE DOING THERE!!
lol

that isn’t a ptap wire…
and there isn’t really a better way with being able to TURN the bars!!! The p4/feltDA behind the stem cable runs dramatically improve things… now, to get that p4… ![]()
I have one idea that I might try, but it really isn’t that far out there… the foreshortening is pretty exagerrated in the photo…

he he he, that is the slc-sl hanging out… didn’t move it for the quick and dirty photo (the AoD was already on the workstand)…

I’m looking at the same thing. Wondering if anyone has a straight on shot of the Ventus as it looks like it is significantly thinner than the Brezza…or any other bar for that matter. My only concern is being able to get low enough with the elbow pads.
It is a lot thinner! I have a both bars right next to me at the moment. The Brezza is relatively thick in the front, but gets pretty sharp to the end.
This makes sense as the brezza has to work at different angles in comparison to the ventus which is always at the perfect angle.
In comparison:
Ventus:
- more aero
- more comfy armrests
-small breaklevers
-no adjustability - only to the side, (and you can raise it 3cm up with spacers) - making it pretty hard to get low enough, at least with the +6° version (the other one seems to be no longer available)
Brezza
+pretty light (will weigh it myself in the next couple of days as I have no scale lying around at the moment)
+adjustable stem
+own choice of break-levers
-maybe not as aero, (a guy from 3t told me about 25% more drag, but he also said the ventus would make you 80 seconds faster on a 40k TT…go figure)
-very small and pretty hard armrests (maybe a brilliant idea, as people would be running the marathon with a 3t-logo stamped into their arms:) )
The Ventus armrests are compatible with the brezza, no idea why they changed them. Maybe for getting the weight down.
Also there are a lot of pictures of the brezza on the 3t page,
if you need one from a certain angle, tell me, I’ll make a pic for you.
