P3C or Carbon Soloist?

I thought I’d find out what you all think. As some of you know, I had my P3C stolen a month ago. With IMWA coming up, I’ve been training on a converted road bike which works well and is pretty comfortable.

My dilemma is this. I’m trying to decide whether I should buy another P3C in time for the race in 6 weeks or purchase a new road bike (maybe the Soloist, maybe something else). I’m not planning on doing much in the way of triathlon next year and will probably ride a road bike more often as I’d like to do a couple organized century rides and maybe a double century. However, I already have a Merlin which isn’t the latest and greatest but works fine.

So the option is buy the P3C for IMWA and possibly Ironman Brazil in 2007 plus the odd triathlon here and there. Or buy a sweet new road bike which I’ll probably use on a constant basis even though I already have a road bike which I’m more than happy with.

The third option is buying a mountain bike because I’m thinking of doing some Xterra racing, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

since you’re more concerned with road than tri riding, I would think the soloist carbon would be a good call, as you could go with the second seat position and use it for tri riding, just like the alu soloist.

With that big of a budget, you could have the CS with two setups, just swap out the seatpost-top and the stem-and-bar, no?

If I went with the road bike, I’d probably just keep my current bike set up for triathlons. I’m not all that adept at swapping out bars, cables, et al so I’d rather not mess with it all that much.
