I know it doesn’t matter, but does anyone know the weight of the Cervelo P3C frame size 56 or 58?
Thanks!

1/2lb. lighter than the P3SL.
P3SL is 100g lighter than the P3…
Now all you need is the weight of a P3. Time for a new thread…
That wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. I don’t need the weight down to the exact gram, just a ballpark number.
Thanks,
Geoff
3 lbs - the regular P3 is 3.5
.
From Cyclingnews:
“Our local Cervelo rep dropped by the Cyclingnews office with a P3 for us to drool over, and we took the opportunity to throw it on the scales. The bare frame weighs 1410 grams, which isn’t stunning by general road frame standards, but is very light for a specialist time trial frame. The matching fork weighs 600g with an uncut steerer while the very aero special seat post comes in at 235g”
My P3C was very close to these weights, +/- 1 gram of each.
Do you know or want to know the bb and torsional stiffness of the frame as well? Without the stiffness, what use is the weight? If weight is all people care about, we can just use less carbon. That would be cheaper too.
The P3C is about 5% stiffer in torsional and bb stiffness than the Aluminum P3 (which was already the stiffest in the Tour magazine test field a few years back.
Hi Gerard,
I was just interested how it compared to my 1998 KM40 in the weight department. I’m not hung up on the weight and I know that there are many much more significant features in a cycling frame, but was curious if the weight of the P3C was going to be drastically different than what I’ve been racing on for the last 7 years. I’ve already heard that it is extemely stiff in the bottom bracket, probably more than my KM40 (which I don’t have problems with because solely use it for time trials, not sprint finishes).
Thanks!
Hi Geoff,
I didn’t mean you in particular, it’s just a general observation. My apologies if it came across that way. The 58 will weigh around 1400g (there is not that much difference between the three biggest sizes in weight), in the end virtually all frames except Softrides are within 1lb of each other so compared to the weight of you and the bike combined it would be tough to feel the difference.
Thanks! Any chance of the 2006 P3C’s coming out with an all carbon finish instead of the CSC colors?
The paint scheme will be the same for 2006.
mr. geoff, what is the story with the pq bottle? wanna sell it or no?
Greg,
Sorry about that. I forgot about it. I’ll send it to you, I promise.
Geoff
