P3 SL updates?

Wondering if those of you who have purchased the P3 SL have any comments on the bike. I a getting close to "pulling the trigger", and don't want to wait for the P3C which I am not convinced is going to be available anytime soon.

Well, to date, I have bought about 20 P3SL’s and I am pleased with each one.

We haven’t had a single problem during assembly and the customers we sold them to are very pleased. I ride one of those 20 myself and it is more comfortable than I originally expected it to be.

In general, it is an impressive bike because of the sophisticated design (aero tube, wheel cut-out) and the fact that it is mechnically reliable and very straightforward.

By contrast we were recently building a competitor’s (not Cervelo) carbon time trial/triathlon bike and the cable routing was horribly poor making assembly and maintenance an unneccesary hassle. This could be a big sorce of anxiety the night before an important race if a rear brake cable or front derailleur cable needed replacing.

The P3SL is elegant and proven: It is a desing that has been refined over time and has won a lot of races. It is a dependable, high performance bike. If you are satisfied with the way it fits you, I wager you will really enjoy owning it.

I recommend this bike very highly, and I buy a lot of them for our customers.

Good luck.

Tom,

Curious who the competitor is that you didn’t like the cable routing … some of us (most, maybe) live in places where the shops would rather selling us something (anything) than tell us the truth about a poor design feature.

thanks for the honesty.

“P3 SL updates”? I don’t suspect the fact that it’s 100g lighter than the regular P3 will make it different in any way other than it’s 100g lighter.

Why is the smallest size in the SL a 53cm and in the regular a 52cm? Aren’t they the same frame - just a different paint job?

My Mom told me, when you can’t say something good about somebody (or something), don;t say anything…

I can tell you I don’t have a single, solitary complaint with my P3SL. It is a five star bike. It is the fifth Cervelo I’ve owned and I do have a P3C on order for myself.

Other carbon tri bikes are just what we’re doing until we have P3C’s.
