You got to love the part where they say the P3SL propelled Basso to a podium finish… too bad he dropped one position in the GC on that TT…
It would be nice to have a bike that propels the athlete…wait, they do have such a bike…it’s called a Moped
You should look into being a editor!
“It would be nice to have a bike that propels the athlete…”
Thanks cerveloguy! Maybe with minuturization technology, they have this unit installed in the curved seat-tube of the P3!
Consider the name: Vroomen! Do you notice how Gerard’s last name sort of sounds like a moped? Coincidence? I think not!
Just having fun, Mr. Vroomen. I think you (and your company) makes top-notch bikes, and certainly wouldn’t want to be seen as making disparaging comments about you or your fine company. Hope you get a chuckle out of this!
I’m a QR man all the way, but I think what Gerard and the ad was saying was that there were plenty of punters who picked other, stronger TT specialists that were a spot-on bet to overtake Basso that day, and that he probably would’ve finished off the podium totally, had he not had just that little bit of an edge that the P3SL supposedly provided.

If it were a Trek ad with Lance making such a claim . . . well, I can almost feel the hate . . .
That reminds me. There’s a brand new Trek Modone 5.9 frame for sale on EBay. New, and uncut, so to speak. Can’t remember the size. Road geometry’s not for me, though. I like 'em 650c and 78 degrees :-))

QR? Doesn’t that mean Quaint Replica or something? -![]()
Har-har, you Canuck doody-head (hee-hee). My first real (as opposed to Sears’ Free Spirit or Schwinn Varsity) bike was a used QR Zero Gravity. Been ridin’ 'em ever since, except for one two-race period in '97 when my PR was a QR’s factory and I bought a C’dale MS800 for emergency use.
But, I won my AG at Keauhou-Kona and overall at the North Shore Triathlon on that thing (which I sold a month later to a Marine for 500 bucks), so it’s like I always say: “It ain’t the tools, it’s the mechanic” ![]()
