P3 ride

I’m moving from a Litespeed Blade to a Cervelo P3 and would like to know what the ride quality will be like. Titanium is great for absorbing some road shock, how will the P3 stack up? Oh yeah it will be used for IM distance.

Cheers

I rode a carbon specialized back in the day, then a Griffen and now I have a Klein Quantum road bike and P3 tri bike. Others will certainly disagree, but I find the Cervelo to be a little harsh, especially over the IM distance. It rides similar to my Klein, which I think is a good thing. They both may be a touch harsh, but they also feel really aggressive to me.

Isolating frame “ride” is really tricky because so many things come into play. If you’re racing an IM and are worried about getting beat up you can ride 23mm instead of 20s or you can run a road fork instead of a bladed aero fork. And don’t forget the saddle. I really like my Azoto saddle on the P3.

GH,

I have had many bikes over the years including a softride, Litespeed Tachyon, Felt B2, and now a P3. No question that the P3 is the most comfortable for me over the IM distance (I’ve done IMs on all of the above). The writer above is correct that it is hard to isolate just the frame and that the tires and saddle probably are a bigger factor for comfort, and of course fit is the most important factor to comfort.

Good Luck,

I owned a litespeed Ultimate and the ride was very stiff. The blade rides about the same. I think you will find that the P3 is much more comfy from everything I have heard and read.

I was looking to buy a Litespeed Blade or P3 about 3 months ago, I rode both bikes in the 2004 model. I thought the P3 was way more comfortable and a better ride all together.
