And where you see a gap between the tire and the seat tube you see a very bad copy that was not thought out very well.

I always wondered, did Cervelo not file a patent for this type of design?

no because they copied from much older versions (albiet not executed as well).

You forgot the Isaac Aerotic…

Ummm…this is what happens in business. A company is successful with a product and a bunch of other companies decide they can get in on the action too. Happens in the auto industry, the beverage industry, the financial services industry, the detergent industry, the you-name-it industry.

Why would it be any different in bicycles?

And for the record, I ride a Planet-X. And I take pleasure smoking past guys riding Cervelos in races.

Note: Trying to be light-hearted with this post, please don’t take too seriously.

Yes, they did. Question is, how much did it actually protect. He is a discussion:

Imitation is the best form of flattery.

Of the three employees from our store doing the Ford Ironman 70.3 Whirlpool Steelhead Triathlon this weekend, three are on P3C’s.

And to think that people were arguing vociferously with me about appreciable differences in the “aero” qualities of these frames and that it dramatically effects their race…

Well at least you have plenty, about 10 to 1, to ride by and keep you busy.

A while back you said you planned to ride a Felt DA at IM Wisconsin. Is that still the plan?

Got any pictures?

Well, it will come down to the bike I am most comfortable on. Also, weight is a concern on those hills for me.

perhaps there is a “curve” fetish in China. Or one mould to go around for everyone. We’ll have to excuse Aegis from that list…they’re made in the US.

And what are you most comfortable on? Weight? Are you hinting at the Kalibur?

Something else? Pics? Come on

So let me get this straight: you believe that because various companies make bikes that look somewhat like the P3C, this automatically means that there’s no difference between any of them, much less any difference from a round-tubed frame? How does that logically follow?

It’s a little different in the seat tube curve and angle, but it’s interesting to compare the Felt, too.

And then there’s the aforementioned:

And then there was:

Just from looking at the pics it would appear that 2,3,6,7 all are not as steep as the P3, making them different enough IMO.

is there any aero benefits in the curved top tube that Specialized has ?
