First Cervelo said Spring. Now with Spring approaching, at least I hope it is as Winter is killing me, Cervelo is now adding that they do not have an exact date. Should I stay with my deposit and sell my current bike or just keep my bike this year and wait until next year. Waiting sucks.

I also have a P3C on order , as far as I am aware they have always said ‘Spring’ with an addition that they will release dates when they have definite info, the problem is , they give a date, your LBS tell you it will be here in May, it doesn’t arrive so you call your LBS who call Cervelo, it just prolongs the agony.
As for worth the wait…I REALLY hope so, personally I hope I have mine in time to do Quelle Challenge Roth in July
I would say you are only MAYBE a fool if you wait for a P3C…IF you don’t have a bike at all right now…
Even if production delays push it off until fall…its still a dream bike sort of purchase…you can afford to wait for Cervelo to iron out all the mfg issues and deliver the bikes…at this point Cervelo is a proven company and you can expect that the P3C isn’t “vaporware” like some other highly promised products…even if they miss the “spring” delivery target…I’ll bet they’ll be working overtime to get initial runs done in time to have CSC boys on them for the TdF…
A more foolish move would be to give up on the P3C wait and grab another bike, no matter how nice it is, when you really wanted a P3C. When somebody else shows up in transition with a P3C you’ll feel super foolish…even as you rack your Blade, Kalibur, or Lucero.
Oh, I suppose you might also be foolish waiting on a P3C if you have tried to fit on a P3 or P3SL and don’t fit one of those (unlikely, but possible)…the P3C is going to fit just like them…so you could at least knock out that variable…

I am waiting for the 06 version…
Spring is until June 20th…so that gives them a really good cushion!!!
This is just one of the reasons I purchased an Isaac Joule.

I too have my deposit down. Gerard says Spring, and that is good enough for me; although, it really doesn’t make that much difference. Note that the first run will be just frames, with complete bikes later in the year; so, you may want to be working on your parts package.
Get one on order and buy a P3 or P3sl in the meantime (remember that the R2.5 was pretty hard to get when 1st available). Cervelos are well known and seem to hold their value fairly well in the used market so getting a P3 with the intention of selling is not a big deal.

First, this is a huge purchase. It is worth the wait.
We live in an age where everything is point and click and next day air. But some things don’t work like that.
I don’t hang out with Gerard, I only work for him as one of his dealers. However, based on meeting him a few times and have a couple casual conversations with him I can tell you he is losing sleep over P3 Carbon delivery and working as hard as he can to get the bikes here on schedule.
And realistically, since Cervelo has been open about delivery dates being flexible and saying they cannot predict them, the bikes are a long, long way from being late.
Very few people understand the incredible difficulty in getting a bike to a sales floor and out the door. It is a big job that involves a substantial amount of factors all coming together correctly at the same time in the same place.
Also, the P3C is distinctly different from anything that has been available before, and therefore, not easy to produce.
Is it worth the wait? I don;t know- that is a personal decision you have to make on your own. However, once they do arrive what is the likelihood you will regret not having waited?
