What is the difference between the Dual and P2sl. The P2sl has the rear cutout. What market does the Dual fill? The geometry seems the same. It seems that they are so similar but Cervelo must see a customer out there for the dual to keep making it.
I went to the LBS to test a P2Sl, I hadnt considered a Dual but they put me on one anyway. It was nice. I couldnt tell a difference between it and the P2SL. I am sure the SL is more aero. All was well until I tested the P2C, I want that! but can’t afford it. I figure a cheaper bike with race wheels is better than p2C with training wheels.
I have been using a Lemond Road bike for years with clip ons. I want something better.
Actually, Cervelo has stopped making the Dual (or will very soon). They’re still around, but Cervelo apparently thinks it isn’t worth making both models.
According to the Cervelo web page, the P2 SL is also a bit lighter than the Dual. Check out http://www.cervelo.com/bikes.aspx?bike=P2SL2007. They have a section that explains the difference between the two.
The P2Sl is sweet. I’ve had a Dual and a P2Sl (crashed the Dual). I really like the anondized finish on the P2Sl. Don’t have to worry about the paint cracking. It’s probably more aero as well.
And the P2Sl is just really damn sexy for the money.
