P2C Speedo wiring

Just got my new bike. Does anyone have any tips on hiding the wiring to the rear? I would like a clean look. I hope some of the creative bike shops can weigh in. A picture would be worth a thousand words.
Thanks

What type of computer?

The common way is to put the wire down the leading edge of the downtube and cover it up with colored electrical tape. Depends on whether you have a cadence sensor and what other accessories you have though.

Wireless= clean.

I always heard to run it a about 1cm to one side of the leading edge…no? You let the leading edge do it’s job with this method.

+1 for wireless.

You have a nice bike, get a wireless.

Gotta agree with going wireless. I just bought a P2SL and didn’t want a wire down the frame, especially since the cables are internal. Also, since I planned on using it on a trainer, a rear wheel pickup was a must.

I picked up this one and have been mostly pleased with it. It was a little tricky getting the computer to find the speed sensor but played around with the location on the chainstay until it worked. The speed sensor is supposed to be on the fork but the guy at Trysports said the rear wheel set up worked for him.

Cateye makes a wireless, rear wheel computer as well but it’s almost twice the price.

I’ve never been in a wind tunnel so have no evidence of my thoughts. My thinking is that you would want to put the wire on the leading edge and then allow the air to flow smoothly along the sides/trailing edge to create less turbulence. If you put the wire 1 cm towards the side on a P3C downtube I would think that you would disrupt the airflow more than if it were on the leading edge. I would let the sides/trailing edge do their work. Depending on the width of the tube you might make it appear wider to the wind and disrupt the air more.

But again, I’ve never been in a wind tunnel and have no proof. In reality most people have other things that they can do to be faster other than worry about the drag caused by the placement of a computer wire. By putting it directly on the leading edge it is a little more out of sight.
