How easily should the seat post move when both bolts are loosened off. Mine is very tight and will require a wooden block and hammer to either raise or lower.
Any suggestions
If you need to use a wooden block and a hammer when the bolts have been loosened up completely, it is definitely too tight. You should be able to slide it in and out manually. Have you used any carbon compound paste (such as Tacx) during assembly? If not, remove the post and apply a THIN even layer on it now. It will make it much easier to slide in/out, plus it will prevent slippage when you tighten the seat binder. (These two functions seem at odds, I realize, but it does work that way.)
Mine is tight as well. When the bolts are loose I can drop my seatpost with a firm rap from my hand. To move it up higher requires two hands smacking the bottom of the seat upwards. I don’t mind as long as I can continue to move it.
A lot of Cervelo’s have seatposts that are not tight enough and slide down during a ride, so a too tight seatpost sounds like the better option ![]()
