Those of you who use the Xlab Sonic Wing which cage do you find works best? I am considering the Xlab Gorilla Carbon Cage does anyone have experience with these and do the bottles stay put? Thanks for your help.
Hi
Several work for Me/us at our Store in Seattle. Your results may vary, but many of our set ups see absolute rubbish pavement.
Best: Arundel Mandible: http://www.competitivecyclist.com/road-bikes/product-accessories/2009-arundel-mandible-carbon-fiber-bottle-cage-5568.92.0.html
Next Arundel DaveO and TriDent (their Stainless Steel cage is a fantastic metal cage.
Specialized Ribcage and RibcagePro.
King Tubular Ti and SS cages
The cheap plastic PD KAGE (also sold by X-Lab as their “remember” …can’t. Damn! must be too much weed;)
Things that do not excel:
Really light carbon cages, of very minimalistic shaping (all of Profile’s expensive Carbo cages are like this…they are great for in frame though)
Aluminum cages that have been bent out of shape…sagging open.
cheers
I can’t understand what you wrote. Can you please revise? You didn’t even mention the gorilla cages or provide a reasonable review of the sonic wing.

“I WORK AT NYTRO”: i too have a P3C and the Xlab Sonic Wing Craig at Xlab changed the bottle cages and the Gorilla cages wont launch your bottles. Although i have standard metal cages on my set up because if i have to set my bike down i dont want to worry about damaging the cages. Its a great setup you can have lots of different setups and they all seem to work really well. hope this helps.

I have this whole setup but I’m still waiting for bikesportmichigan to ship my cervelo to me. I find that the gorilla cases have a very strong grip. I use Rocket Sport bottles with mine. The grip almost seems too strong! I do not have experience with other cages so I cannot provide a comparison.
I am not using the gorilla cages on a sonic wing, but I have them on a Cannondale Slice and they are better than other cages I have tried in holding in the bottles. With the previous Serfas carbon cages the bottles would continuously try to migrate out of their cage, no such problem with the gorilla cage.
We have put a couple of the Sonic Wing’s onto customers P2C’s and have had positive feedback.
