P2C or QR Lucero....opinions for newbie

I’m really looking to purchase this bike soon. I need to return the borrowed bike, and don’t want to be without. Any OPINIONS on cervelo P2C or Quintana Roo Lucero? I’m a 48 incher on bike size.
Thanks,

I love my P2C…I think it all comes down to fit and who in the area that sells them and how much you trust them for service, etc.

Buy a powermeter and a P2SL or a cheaper Roo.

If you are a newbie, I recommend a road bike instead.

you’re a 48cm person, bike size. i believe we spoke earlier today on the telephone. one thing i’ve found out in the interim. a birdie told me there’s new pricing coming on the P2C. so, investigate that before you buy. this is news as of today. may make the P2C even more compelling.

What is the new price of the P2C? Is it for the 2008 or 2007s?

Damn that Gerard! As much as I appreciate him making my potential future purchase more palatable, this is just going to make it harder for me to get an extra “edge” when I DO finally pull the trigger…aarghh!

Concerns like this fade once you have one.

I ride the same size bike as you do. I went for the QR because the frame proportiions worked better for me (long legs, very short torso). Also, I could get 700C wheels in the small size and could build it up with Campy components since the Lucero comes bare frame.

Isn’t the Lucero more expansive (by $1000) than the P2C?
That being said, I recently acquired a Lucero (from 2time IMMoo winner Dave Harju) and I really really enjoy. This is not difficult at all since I went (and still have) from a 2000 $1000 road bike with tripple Sora components to Lucero. I would have probably experience the same with the P2C.
That being said if I had the choice, I will go with the cheaper one (because I believe $3.5K for a bike is already a lot of money (I got my 06 Lucero for about 50%) assuming there is no fit issue.

Cheers,
Fred.

Come on Dan, whats the new price on the P2c?

Have you taken a peak at the geometry charts and the stack and reach comparison of these two bikes? That may be a factor for you and perhaps a good basis for comparison.

Thanks,
FWIW I bought a S Seduza (same as Lucero) because I wanted 700c wheels and it was the only 700c bike that fit me properly. If I didn’t care about 700c though, I would have bought a P2C. Can’t really go wrong, both pretty awesome.

Sorry---went to clinic for a sprint I'm doing in two weeks. Thanks for the input. To answer a few ?'s, The Lucero I found on Nytro.com is a package with a DuraAce Mix group (I posted link to components), and is the same price as the P2C complete. Just not sure which bike is the way to go.

Also, I was curious about the stack and reach. I only saw it listed on the Cervelo’s geometry. Is there a way to figure it out for the QR so I can compare??

Here is the link to the stack & reach database:

Anyone heard anything else on the (alleged) new P2C price yet? I’m about ready to make the jump as is, and a slightly lower price could end up sealing the deal for me.

Ring the bell and watch me drool,
