P2C or B12? Help me choose my next bike

Hello ST,

My dilemma:
a 2011 B12 (minus FD, RD, crankset/cassette)

OR

a 2008 (I think, it’s mostly red with white and black) P2C (minus crankset and RD) with an aftermarket HED cockpit.

Both are the sameish price. Both are 54 cm.

My first concern is fit. Since these are both ST bikes, I will not have the opportunity to get on them until I fork over the cash. I honestly don’t know much about my previous geometry. It was a road bike with clip ons. Managed to get some serious ITBS that way. I’m just under 5’10’’ with a longerish torso and about a 31’’ inseam. I usually wear 30-30 jeans.

My second concern is value. If the fit is similar (I hear it is), then which bike is more bang for my buck? I know a lot of you are Cervelo fans, but is the B12 faster due to its more recent vintage? How difficult or expensive will it be to add the final components to these bikes?

Thanks in advance! Having you guys is like having a really awesome team wrench (who tells me what to do and can’t fix my bike). Hoping to make the purchase in the next few days.

I like Quintana Roo Kilos…

I’d get the Felt cuz it’s 3 years newer.

you forgot to put that in pink

Why would I do that? Just a suggestion… Worked for me this year  It’d probably work for you

nobody can help you, because not even you know what sort of position you will be getting in, or if you have particular aero bar preferences.

so you have no idea what stack/reach range will be best for you.

two options:

  1. just pick one, and ride it and then learn your position. if you end up needing a ton of spacers or a wonky stem, then in the future you can get a more precisely fitting frame next time

  2. go to a shop with a fit bike and get fitted and then see if your stack and reach will work with one of those two bikes a bit better than the other

  3. just get the p2c and make it work

THAT was helpful
