Ordered an ultegra p2c from IO sports and the bike came in 2 weeks early! Got fitted Friday night then went home and tinkered with the fit some more. This is the second bike I purchased from IO sports, I was delighted with their service and communication.
Saturday did my usual 100 mile ride and it was so nice, boy was I pleased. It felt odd being on 700c wheel versus 650’s at first since I really felt higher off the road, but that quickly passed. I was riding a p2k for 5 years, and really thought the hype to carbon fiber frames was 90% marketing and 10% reality, but boy was I wrong. What a difference. The frame really absorbs road vibrations well.
I know I am still in the honeymoon phase, but I could not help smiling riding the bike. I did have the back wheel start rubbing for a short while but I was able to pull it back with the QR’s. I swapped out the brake levers for a pair of tektro 5.0 carbons with a reverse spring and stayed with my profile t2 aero bars. Still not sure If I am going to keep the Cervelo brake calipers or take the Ultegra pair off of my p2k that are about a year old? Any feedback on how the cervelo brake calipers are holding up would be appreciated.
Now I just need to have my race wheels arrive, I have a short sprint on Saturday but will probably do the ride on my 650c p2k.
