I’ve noticed that when it’s tightened into the trainer the seatpost seems to have a bit of a creak to it when she’s riding (or if I do a little wiggle to check that it’s locked in tight).
Does not seem to be as prevalant when riding outside.
I’m not sure where the creak comes from, but my P2C is noisy as hell when it’s on the trainer. Out on the road I don’t notice a thing. Have you tried any carbon assembly paste? I personally haven’t but it might help alleviate the creak.
When I got my P2SL a few years ago I had problems with the seatpost creaking. There was a metal (almost looked copper in colour) insert between the post and the tube. I suppose it was intended to help make for a snug fit. When riding on the trainer or outdoors it creaked really loudly. I got all kinds of weird looks. People could hear me coming from far behind.
My LBS and I tried all kinds of lube, tightening, loosening, etc., but nothing worked. Eventually we swapped the copper coloured metal insert for an aluminum or metal one and that helped. I then upgraded to a carbon seatpost which wasn’t stock on the bike at the time. That solved the problem all together.
All to say that you may want to check that insert.
My LBS changed it for me so I don’t know where they got it from.
I think I paid about $150 CDN for the carbon post about three years ago, but can’t remember for sure. It is a cervelo branded seat post, but I’m not sure who the actual manufacturer was.
