P1 or Wahoo Kickr power and BBS and calibration

As I begin my annual “what time can I ride on my upcoming race” obsession I was wondering if anyone had any input for two questions

  1. My P1 is approximately 6-8 watts lower than my Kickr. Of course I take this into account when I’m riding. Which wattage do I input into BBS to get a more accurate estimation of race time? I calibrate my Kickr all the time and the zero offset is 835.
  2. I don’t calibrate my P1 pedals much as it seems as though this number can change relative to my kickr numbers (anywhere from 0-2 watts off up to 7 watts off). Is this okay since my zero offset remains constant and I’ve chosen to use this as my standard? As long as the P1 is about 7 watts off I can figure out what to do. I understand I can have my P1 control the kickr but didn’t do so for this year and didn’t want to mess anything up.

thx in advance

you will be racing using your p1’s so that would be the wattage you should use for BBS
.

Use the pedals.

Make sure your bike+rider weight is correct (include helmet, shoes, clothes, food etc…)

After a few races you should have a reasonable model & be able to roughly predict times (within a minute or so for an Oly)

Weather, clumps of riders / loop course draft etc… will have an impact, be careful when using the aero analyser to determine cda from rides where you’ve picked up some draft.
