We, (a group of local triathletes) are trying to start a tri club in our area. We have an excellent place to open water swim, but unfortunately it is on private land and the landowner is great and wants us to use it, but he doesn’t want to get sued if someone drowns. Does anyone have a form or something that you use that releases the landowner from being sued, or something that says the tri club won’t be sued. Some form of a sign in sheet or something like that, anything you use will help. We are trying to do this right and are afraid that one misstep could cost us in the long run. We will of course make changes to any document you send to better fit our needs. And will also have an attorney look at it, to make sure we are covering our butts. Just looking for a place to start.
