Overhaulin tricks Lance

I don’t know if this is old news, but I saw the trailer for this for the first time last night.

Problem is, if it was original and now it aint, it’s value was just flushed down the toilet. Smile for the camera and cry in your beer afterward.

My opinion of Lance went up if he has the taste to own a '70 GTO.

I hope that was the original motor they were putting in it.

Maybe the original block, everything else had been changed.

The car actually looked like it was original, as in original vinyl seats and stuff. If it was showroom original and worth some serious cash, I don’t think those guys would have changed it. Plus I am sure Sheryl put out some feelers about getting the car hot rodded before she allowed them to do that. IF she didn’t, she is cute enough to forgive.

Looked an awful lot like an aluminium block. Most definitely not original. Ouch.

Here’s some pictures from the shop in Austin that did the work:

Looks like they did a nice job, but I think those wheels kill it. Some more retro-looking magnesium wheels would have been cool.

Having been involved in a different “reality” show on TLC not too long ago, I just want to say: Beware of the REALITY.

I think this is the car that Sheryl gave Lance after winning TdF. Found this this link. Sounds like the car is worth a bit more after the ‘overhaulin’ was done.

Herbert. Shame on you! You can’t just throw something like that out there without some details. Come on now. Out with it.

car looks great. but my eyes were drawn to the improperly displayed flag on the site; it’s backwards.

Example: If we did not give the answers “they wanted” they just kept asking the same question over and over until they had the response they apparently “desired.”
Does that make sense?
We also had seen eachother prior (on that dating show), but they pretended we did not.
But hey, I don’t won’t to hijack the Lance thread.
Cheers,
Herbert

Thanks, I guess “Reality” is a relative word isn’t it.

aluminum heads, iron block. the block paint is an old pontiac color

IMHO the only attractive GTO’s were the '64 and '65. .

THe only problem with those wheels is that the rims don’t keep spinning after the car stops
.

agreed, should have left the original rally wheels on it. Thing is the “Goat” didn’t look to bad before they started working on it.

Personally, I’d prefer to have it all original!!

Another victim of “Surprise Lycra Makeover” on TLC.

Lance might want to return the favor and overhaul Crow
