Has anyone watched the DVD? Is it worth buying? If so, any place less expensive than regular price?
Somebody posted a link to the dvd a couple of months ago. Search the posts and you might find the link to watch it.

The above documentary shot in 2003 is called “Smertens Sejr” (English: The Victory of Pain) and it has nothing to do with the other documentary movie shot in 2004 called “Overcoming”, except they are both about Team CSC.
As you might have noticed Tyler Hamilton was starring in the 60 minutes “Smertens Sejr” documentary from 2003. The 105 minutes long Overcoming documentary movie was shot in 2004 where Tyler Hamilton was riding for Phonak until he got caught in doping, so Tyler Hamilton ia not in the Overcoming movie.
There was also shot a 3rd IMAX movie about Team CSC in 2003 called “Brainpower”. It was mostly about Tyler Hamilton, but was never released before Tylere’s doping sentence, and after this the decidd to edit Tyler out of the IMAX movie, an I think they changed the tilte from “Brainpower” to something else as well. But I don’t think it has benn released yet.
You can watch two different trailers for Overcoming here:

And from the award winning Danish director Tómas Gislason’s own website: http://tomasgislason.com/page.php?id=1&mid=43&video=1

The link will not be shut down, the above documentary called “Smertens Sejr” is hosted in it’s full length (1 hour) by the producer, the Danish public service TV- and Radio station DR (Denmark’s Radio): http://dr.dk
But this documetary was made a year before Overcoming and they are not related in any way except they are both about Team CSC.
Is the dvd available now?
You can buy the DVD at Team CSC’s webshop for US$ 29.39 (NB: Region 2): http://team-csc.com/shop_products.asp?cat_id=7
Or here for US$ 39.95 (NB: Region 1): http://www.worldcycling.com/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=WCP&Product_Code=TDOCDOVER&Product_Count=&Category_Code=
Edit: added info about DVD region codes.
Note that the DVD on CSC’s site is NOT region 1 encoded (North America). The worldcycling.com one doesn’t explicitly state what region it is, but given that the store claims to be “America’s premier road cycling catalogue” you could try assuming that it is region 1…
Haven’t seen it, but to clarify, if you are in the US or Canada order it through worldcycling.com. Here’s a note CSC sent after I pre-ordered it on their site:
"We have just learned that the overcoming DVD we sell is only formated to Western Europe, South Africa and Japan, but not US, Canada, Australia, etc. worldcycling.com has the rights for the American market. So we have to cancel your order in the Team CSC webshop.
Sorry!
Kind regards"

In other words the DVD sold in Team CSC’s webshop is Region 2

I watched it at the Toronto Film Festival and wrote a review of it for the Enduro Sport website:

Definitely an interesting documentary for any cycling fan.

I ordered mine about a month ago. Nothing as yet, when I went back on the site the shipping date had been moved back toward the end of this month from the middle as previously quoted, to my recall.
Let you know when it has arrived.
yeah, well, share the love… took me a lot of trial and errors to findan app that worked, was stable and simple.
worked great this summer grabbing the live giro feeds too…

Mine was waiting on the doorstep for me when I got back from work this evening. I have just finshed watching it, all 107 minutes of the movie and 100+minutes of the extras including Stage 13 with Lance and IVan climbing to La Mongie, the Alp d’huez TT, Jens, Claus and the mechanics.
In all a very motivating dvd and interesting too.
5 stars.
Totally loved the film, as a cycling fan and as a movie buff.
They seemed to be more human and more three dimensional people than how USPS/Discovery is depicted. I have more respect and admiration for Riis now that I have seen this film. I loved the way he talks about his boys - especially of Carlos Sastre and Ivan.
Now I have to sit down and watch the bonus footage.
