Does anyone have any experience with this stem attachment? Is it as stable as other clip on style attachments? I’m a little worried a about resting my weight onto the front edge of a stem, just curious if anyone has tried this out . . . Also if you have, how wide are you able to get the pads? I currently have a profile t1+ set up and would like to put some extensions on my road bike for longer rides . . . Also does this extnsion / add on only clip onto oval stems or does it work with any 4 bolt style stem?
I’ve used one of their stem\face plate set-ups on my road bike for a couple of years, no problems. You have to use an Oval stem as the face plate bolts are attached from the back side of the stem not from the front like most stems. It’s quick to change back and forth and doesn’t mark up the handlebar like most clip-ons.
The drawback is lack of adjustability, the extensions and pads can only be on the same angle as the stem. No rotating up and down.
that link got me looking at oval’s offerings
I have to say they have some good stuff. some of their options would be very useful for people concerned bout climbing performance on the tri bikes. you can mount the base bar high, elbow pads low.
also useful for people with bikes that have too much stack.
oval ‘gets it’ I think. everyone buy their stuff =)
