Oval concepts a700 vs. a900

I’m planning on builiding a bike with the intentions of going with either the Oval Concepts a700 or a900 aerobars. My ultimate plan is to race in the Florida IM next year. During the 112mi I’m wondering if the a900 carbon aerobars would help dampen my upper-body more so than the a700 aluminum? BTW, the frame is aluminum.

I would think that would be a small difference. Carbon fork and carbon rims will help for sure, but I doubt aero bars would. I have never raced on a full carbon set-up. I have raced profile design carbon stryke on a al bullhorn and the A700’s and don’t really notice a difference, but that is on a full carbon bike with carbon wheels. I thin that money can be better spent than upgrading to theA900. Hope that helps.

I have the a900’s on my alu P3. They did not make difference for shock dampening.
They look pimp though… so well worth it!
Oh yeah… the original brake levers are shite and should be upgraded to the carbon version.

There is a comparison of these bars over on biketechreview.com:
