anyone have these? is there a way of having the arms pads raised up a bit? spacers or something
just contacts the distributer over here and got a prompt response with retail prices and I cant believe how cheap they are! They look exactly the type of thing I am after!

spec sheet says that pad height is adjustable. I have the A700’s, they come with a couple of spacers.

thanks
i read the spec sheet but didnt get that from it
cheers

I just finished setting up a new cockpit on an old bike this afternoon. I put a set of A700s on a Vision base bar and used a 17 degree Oval stem. I’m really happy with the result. I’ll try and snap a pic or two for you.

.

I like the A700’s but the angle inwards of the arms concerns me a bit
710’s are the go! What are the arm pads made from? Similar to Profile (not a fan of theirs) I like them to be soft but supportive (like EVA in shoes)
Photos- yes please!

I have the A900 in my bike, you can put the armrest wathever you want, they’re the most regulable armrests of all aerobar brands.

I said A700 … I meant I installed A710s with the standard upward bend. Here’s a pic of what I’d been riding (left) and what I set up today with the A710s (on an older, semi-retired frame). I’ve since removed the lone spacer from the right pic. If it works out as well on the road as it’s feeling inside on the rollers, I’ll move it all over to my P3sl which should get me a bit lower still thanks to a shorter head tube. I’m doing this for time trialing, not triathlon.

BTW … here’s my annual barn shot. Last year’s shot drew much critical acclaim, but I was in my underwear and slippers in that shot.

WOW! wish i had two bikes like that! There is no way I could get that low!
I think the bars will be great. Light, uncomplicated and most of all not that expensive!
Might get a Vision base bar as I can get them for cheap…
thanks SO much for everyones help
BTW cool fan set up you have there attached to your tranier

You missed the part where I said, if it works out, I’ll transfer the setup to my P3sl. That’s a P2k on the left and a Trek Equinox 9 on the right. Hi … I’m Bob … I’m a bikeaholic. I have 3 road bikes in my current riding rotation at present, too.

That’s what I thought 18 months ago. I’m old and brittle and I’ve managed. It doesn’t always feel good at first, but you adapt. Having said that, again, I’m doing time trials and tri relays … not Ironman distances. But I’ve done 1/2 IM relays and been quite comfortable in the setup on the left. I’m sure if I were concerned about coming off the bike and running I wouldn’t be looking at such an aggressive setup.

Indeed they are light and relatively cheap. I think I’ve seen the vision base bar on special at www.all3sports.com. One thing I will advise you is that the Vision base bar limits how wide you can set your aero bars because the base bar flattens out into a wing. I have wide shoulders and I’ve had to set the Oval bars as wide as the base bar will allow. Fortunately, it works there for me.

Bob, did you cut down the A710 extensions at all, or is that the length they came?

It’s good you asked that. Now that you mention it, that might be an issue for other users. Those are at the fullest extension possible. As you can see from the photos, that put the shifters into my hands precisely where I had them before. I’d prefer it if I could reach a bit more, but I think this will do. I think when I’m actually out on the road, I’ll find these to be just right. Some folks might them to be too short.

one of the reasons these Oval bars look good to me is because they are shot
Vision are nice and very comfy but unadjustable. So if and when i upgrade my bike i would have to change the Visions, hopefully not the Ovals.
