Outdoor Static Triathlon (ironman distance) Has it been done b4?

Hi All,

Good vibes from Ireland to you all…

I have a question that i hope the wider triathlon community can answer please.

I’m doing a Static Outdoor (Ironman distance) event on Grafton St, Dublin for a big charity. I will be using an Endless pool which will be built on the street a turbo trainer for the bike and a treadmill for the run. The charity, to increase publicity would like to say that this is the first of its kind in the world….

Could someone please tell me if this is the first of its kind in the world? Maybe its the first Outdoor one…??
It makes it a bit more marketable for potential sponsors

I know of indoor versions at much shorter, typically sprint, distances. But not outdoors, IM distance.

I know someone who did an indoor IM to celebrate his 40th birthday, swimming in the pool at the gym he belonged to, then setting up his bike on a trainer and then doing the run on a treadmill.
