OT -- Survivor: Rob and Amber; who will win the $ vote?

Pretty interesting “finale” show with the marriage proposal, Jerri getting booed off the stage, Shi-ann (sic) getting a free car from Amber (after calling everyone stupid), Tom acting like an idiot (I was hoping for a nice Jerry Springer fight), and the final “American Idol” copycat vote idea. My money is on Rupert for the second million $…

Amber rode Rob’s coattails all season…good strategy.

Rupert gets it in a landslide…though I’d like to see Shi-ann get it…

Would like to see Jenna also since she did come third. I was shocked that Rob and Ambuh had something for real. I thought she was just playing him. My initial reaction when Rob proposed before the winner was announce was that he was covering al the bases.

Now that’s romantic

Now Rob will start playing the hardest “Survivor” episode of all:

MARRIAGE
.

My wife thought he was trying to guarantee himself at least a share of the prize, except:

From the Survivor All-Stars Rules page:

"If you were one of the Survivors, you wouldn’t want to do any of these things:

Try to conspire to share the prize. The million dollars may be won by one and only one individual. Survivors are prohibited from sharing or making any agreement to share all or any portion of the prize."

Hmmmm, violation … ? You make the call.

yeah, but ya still got MXC
.

Did you ever see the MST3K “The Killer Shrews”? That was the best. They had these dogs running around with cardboard cones on their snouts. They were supposed to be shrews that were transformed somehow into GIANT shrews.

The marriage proposal was lame. I wouldn’t give odds on how long that lasts. I just hope Amber has a good attorney and a better prenup.

Rupert should get the million. He is the only person in the history of the show that actually dealt with everyone honestly and openly. I don’t think he lied to a single person. Plus, he’s just a nice guy. Even Colby was a dick this time around.

Sadly the whole thing was predictable, and I laid it out for my wife six weeks ago(not bragging, it was obvious). The only thing I got wrong was that I called Rupert out before Tom. The only way it could have come out differently would have been if everybody realized that they were being played and did something about it. What amazed me the most was that in all that time, nobody ever talked to each other about the fact that Rob had an alliance with every single person in the game, and every single person thought they were going to the final three, well, until they got pimp-slapped by Rob. The Rob-father indeed.

I often tell people that I watch the show because it prepares me to deal with the politics in the corporate world. And I’m really not kidding.

Final thoughts(this is for you Sir Tibbs): It’s pretty scary that we live in a world where pop culture is so sold out that people who play what is effectively a game show get to become famous. You have Colby doing his modeling gig, Sue on Extreme Makeover(they still need to give her a brainwipe), Jerri calling herself an actress, Ugh! Whatever happened to talent and skill?

I thought the exact same thing. He proposed to her before the votes were read. If they get married in MA, then the money is jointly theirs, unless they get a divorce, in which case she gets it all. ;p So by getting engaged before the winner was announced, they should have been disqualified, and not gotten the money.

But at least they’d still have each other. ;p

If you look at it objectively, only Elisabeth Hasselbeck, has been able to (or wanted to) successfully step away from the Survivor persona. Sure, she’s on a show on a network nobody watches, but she’s still yummy.

I think Rupert will win the mil. But, I voted for my all time favorite Rob C.

Did I miss something, or did CBS stay away from the “naked bump” controversy involving Richard Hatch and Susan? Her emotional rant about being “violated” seemed somewhat ironic after she proudly told everyone that her body had basically been “violated” by a team of plastic surgeons. Of course maybe there is some legal action going on and CBS didn’t want to touch it…

Yea, I’m sure the lawyers had everyone muzzled, and banned anyone from even referring to the nekkid Sue/Richard bump. They prolly paid Sue off and wrapped her up legally from even mentioning it ever again. That kind of crap would get the show in big trouble. I bet you they now implement a rule about indecent exposure or some such for future episodes, in order to prevent something like that from happening again.

Well, about Rob/Amber “conspiring” to get the million and thus being disqualified…not really. All the votes at that point had been cast. The outcome was already determined. They could conspire all they wanted after those final votes were cast, as it would still not change the outcome of the game – which is what the “spirit” of that rule was intended to address.

HOWEVER, anyone catch the fact that Rob was accusing Big Tom and Lex for making an alliance even before the game ever started? Sounds to me that may be grounds for some punishment. Maybe not. Sounded as if they were all calling each other talking about it even before they were shipped off to the island.

I give Boston Rob all the credit in the world. He played eveyone like a puppeteer. He deserved that million, he was the king manipulator and “played” the game so far better than anyone else, its rediculous. There were an unusually large amount of players who were bitter at Rob. They were pretty harsh to him in the final Tribal Council. Lex, Tom, and Alicia just came of so damn bitter. In my opinion, they came off looking a lot worse. Shi Ane (sp?) had the best comment…“people who live in glass houses, should not throw stones”. So right, they all were wheeling and dealing. They were just poor sports and losers. It cost Rob though.
