OT: Strange Lights in San Diego

did anyone else see this?

http://www.nebmot.com/lights

can’t be northern lights, we are to far south right? any ideas on what it was?

Ben

They are out there…

Where are Mulder and Scully when you need them??

saw this a few years ago…turned out to be some rocket testing presumably from Pendleton…sure was cool though…

it was pretty strange i saw it out of the corner of my eye sitting at my bar. and it slowly changed shape over about 15 mins till it disappeared.

from our view it changed from white to yellow to orange. my friend that lives in rancho bernado said it was orange from his visiblity.

mira mar is just east of us by about a block. not sure if they would risk testing a rocket test from mira mar but that looks like the direction it would have come from.

we saw it in phoenix and tucson as well. I was talking w/ my AF friend at the time. He said it was a rocket

he was right…

It looked pretty cool when the sun was setting. I ran in to get the camera, but by the time I got out there the sun had set too much! Oh well. Not every day you see that.

it was pretty cool, I thought it was the aurora borealis but we are way too south in santa clarita for that, just got out from a hard swim and saw it!!!

It was a Minotaur from Vandenberg. 4 stage rocket into low orbit.

Pretty cool looking. My 3-year-old ran back in the house screaming and wouldn’t come out of her room :frowning:

we were down on the beach at LaJolla Shores for the tri club monthly Aquathon and saw it, very neat.

THEY just want us to believe it was a rocket… I’m in NM now, I know about these things…

are the voices talking to you?

just don’t interrupt them; they might get mad.

that’s just me having fun with bottle rockets
.

PLEASE don’t patronize us…

Looks similar to few years back I was in vegas and saw wame thing was one of the test of anti missle
system where they fired one missle and tried to hit it with another. By the way normally you are too far south for northern lights but it’s not impossible I think not too many years ago was enough solar activity northern lights were visible as far south as mexico. I saw them in tennessee.

so why was it rainbow colored when the sun set? did it drop some jet fuel or something? hmmm

I was born in Roswell in 1960.

At least my parents told me I was “born.” One never knows…

Refraction in the water vapor – just like a rainbow.
