I injured my foot in the training for IMCDA. I finished the race. I am now in a removable, walking cast. Fun stuff! Anyway, my wife brings me home some corn on the cob from a local veggie stand. I fire up the ol’ bbq and lay those green husks across the grill, gently brushing 'em with some olive oil. About 45 minutes later, I pull them from the grill and pull the green husks back to find some unbelievalbly white corn. I shrug, butter 'em and lightly dust with some salt and pepper. WOW that was some good corn!! I took my cast off and went outside to play with my daughter and there was no pain in my foot at all. Perhaps there was some magic in those kernels, white of corn. AHHH the power of corn! Perhaps it was the new genetically engineered corn ripe with PED’s, liberal left jabs and republican right uppercuts. Corn that could calm the LA vs. Simeoni debacle. Corn that could unite a world of differences. Corn that could possibly fight those who tack race routes. Corn that could give the beloved Tibbs a new ride. Corn that could stop those few in the sport that believe they are above other triathletes. Corn that gives RD’s super human powers to combat those ungreateful of the jobs they are doing.
Then again maybe it was just some damn good corn. Corn that gets stuck between your teeth so good that you leave it there just to remember the phenomenal taste you previously enjoyed. Anyway, go to the store and roast some corn on the cob. Life will seem a whole lot simpler!
