I am having trouble with my cali. When I turn it on it reads upgrader. I can’t get it out of that mode. When I try to run the upgrade program it dosn’t do any thing ( shows no progress) I am just moved up to osx so I need help.Help!!!

I want to go run but the music toy is down 
try running repair disk permissions -
Quit all open applicatioins, - go to your applications folder > then open the utilities folder > open disk utility
with disk utility open, it will show your hard drive on the left column - (it will show a description of the drive and then the name of the drive) - select the name of the drive and then at the bottom, hit the button that says ?repair permissions" it will run and may show some text of things it is checking and if it is repairing anything.
