Not as important as our USAT election, but the again, what is?

I can’t believe the Lakers got rocked like that. Should have been a sweep. I don’t think they would have won the series even with Karl Malone.
The Pistons are NBA champs?? How many people would have picked that one before the playoffs started?
Damn, they played well as a team. I’m not a Pistons fan but I was impressed.
I hate the Lakers, so I’n happy.
GO PISTONS!
I’m a Mavs man, myself. Damn, I hope we don’t lose Steve Nash this off-season.
I did pick them as winners, even before the playoffs started. Basically from when they got Rasheed. Even before I thought they could be contenders for the title, but with Rasheed.
And to put this in perspective, I am not a Pistons or Rasheed fan. Well, not in particular. I’m just a basketball fan.
Maybe I’m not US biased, which is why I could pick only based on quality of the team, and not according to what bullshit all the US media want to throw at you guys.
Seriously, when the finals started, did you really think that the Lakers were favorites ???
Did anyone else notice the worlds worst lip-synch version of the National Anthem performed by Aretha Franklin? I couldn’t stop laughing on how off her lips were to the music.
Dave from VA
Do that mean the fat lady did not sing?
As a Laker-Hater, I couldn’t be happier. I never would have thought the Pistons could do it, but I am so happy that they did. I’m not a big fan of Chauncy Billups either, but you’ve gotta love Rip, Tayshaun, and Big Ben.
I’ve always thought Phil Jackson was way overrated as a coach. I mean how can you NOT win the regular season and the playoffs with O’Neal, Bryant, Payton, and Malone (yes, I know Malone was out with injuries the last part of the season). Contrast this with Larry Brown who always seems to bring out the very best in his teams.
Was it just me, or does Larry Brown’s wife look gorgeous?
And one guy owns both the Pistons and the Lightning. Good for him, and what a great Pistons team (coming from a half-assed Laker fan).
as somebody who doesn’t follow the NBA (but watched the last two games), could anybody tell me what it was all about with one of the Pistons guy having a weird plastic face shield thingie on?
His nose had been broken twice during the season. The doctors told him that if it was broken again, it would require surgery and put him on the disabled list (and unable to play) for a considerable period of time. As you undoubtedly saw, he was wise to have worn that mask.
I’ts kind of like the World Championship Uni in cycling, except it’s for the league’s most improved player. He gets to wear it the entire year. It’s an honor.
