OT: Non-training weekend plans

Elake wants your training plans for the weekend; I’d like to hear about anything interesting (or even not so interesting) you guys have got going this weekend. For me, there’s nothing going on except walking in the Memorial Day parade with my 6-year-old in downtown Northville, MI. I can’t wait.

Well, as I mentioned in the other thread my girlfriend and I are having dinner then probably going to see Brad Pitt in “Troy”. She leaves on a camping trip tomorrow.

Mike Aderhold got the Bikesport Corporate Yacht out of my garage yesterday and I suspect we will be getting that into the water at some point.

Mostly though, there are a lot of rides scheduled with the group here in Dearborn and we will be giving some great deals on Felt bikes here in the store.

I will be spending 3-4 hours a day working on the crackhouse I am renovating.

I’m going up to Napa County Saturday for my friend Steph’s wedding Saturday night. I was at the finish of her first HIM, then at the finish when she did IM NZ. There will be a bunch of triathletes there and during the reception, we’ll be checking the Blackberry for email results of a bunch of our friends who will be racing IM Brazil.

Sunday: A bike ride and BBQ?
Monday: Dinner with a non-triathlete friend. Get another package ready to mail to my buddy Steve in Iraq. I have a stack of tri mags to include.

In between–not much except relaxing, reading and whatever training is on my schedule.

Oh, oh! I’m gonna see that movie where the weather is really bad and the world ends. That’s cool.

I’m gonna see that movie where the weather is really bad and the world ends.

Yeah, I heard that was filmed on location in Michigan about a week ago. . .

I’m looking out my office window at Cobo Hall and it says there is a Tattoo Expo there May 28-31:)
.

Saturday in the office (bike to work day), but lots of time on Sunday and Monday for whatever our two year old wants to do.

Family Family Family.

I’ll get my big ride out of the way tomorrow AM (NO WORK! YEAH!) Then my two brothers are coming in town for my Dad’s retirement. It will be a blast…a lot of food, stories and good cheer…not to mention my 21 month old is a blast…great age…great fun…great time.

Hope you all have a safe and fun weekend.

Hmmm. I’m not a big fan of Tattoos.

Some friends are here in Zurich this weekend for a visit, so some tour guiding is in order and Monday is a holiday for us, so it’s off to the mountains for a bit of hiking. Plus some planning work is still needed for hosting a mini training camp in 2 weeks…

I say turn some of those “non-training” days into training days. I hope to take either the tandem or the triplet out with the kids this weekend. 6 year olds love riding with daddy or mommy. This is different as compared to you riding with them. Besides it sure makes driving that 20# bike easier

Saturday I am on the Delta people watching ;). Sunday morning I am mowing my lawn (first time this year) and then buying paint for the home theater room. Sunday afternoon/evening/Monday morning is the family card game. Monday morning is the Memorial Day crit in San Jose. Then Monday night I am off to my mother’s house for my bday dinner (she has been out of town for a month).

Where do you start on a project like that? Is the roof in good shape?

It actually looks kinda fun. You’re right - you can’t mess up anything worse than it is.

Best of luck! Thanks for sharing that.

It stopped raining for about the first time in two weeks - I’m going to cut the lawn!! Also we take delivery of our brand new stove on Saturday.

Peter - respect is due for taking that on!!

I will be celebrating my love for Electronic Music in Hart Plaza at Detroit’s Movement Festival.

House hunting in Denver for the big move from Dallas.

Wife’s leaving town, so I won’t do much besides train, barbeque, and play with the dog. Ahhhhh, the simplicity of (temporary) single life.
