I was either the “missing” or the sane one. Some times I think it is still saner to get out. Don’t get me wrong. Medicine is a pretty awesome field that people are dying to get into, but sometimes, even though I’m working with people and affecting people (I hope) in a positive way, sometimes, it really just feels like a job. And if you think about it that way, then why would I go through the stress of having patients lives on the line just for a job. Oh well, I do like it though.
It’s funny how many people I know fit those categories perfectly (I’m a 5th year MD/PhD student). I’m probably some combo of “academic” and “prankster”…
Same is true over here in law school. I’ve seen similar student-categories for law students. It was more apparent first year than it is now. Mostly because I now avoid the schoolhouse at all costs. But we sure did have fun picking them out my first year. Lots of gunners. I tried to be “the sane one”, but 7-11 wouldn’t hire me. No big deal, their loan repayment plan kind of sucked anyways…
Depending on the rotation
Most rotations
Prankster
Amazingly that’s kinda what my hair looks like right now

ever play asshole bingo in class?
asshole bingo?
we showed up the last day in wife beaters, flipflops, shorts, and cowboy hats for our pharm class…it was good times ![]()
you take the names of all the gunners in the class and arrange them on a grid. every time they raise their hand/make a comment/be themselves, you mark them off on your grid, until someone gets a “bingo”. in order to win, you have to make a comment and incorporate the word “bingo” in your response/commentary.
