Looks like mapquest, et al. is about to become obsolete. Check out http://maps.google.com (still beta version). Drag your mouse around to scroll around the country or your neighborhood. I understand there are some cool new features on the way.
Google bought keyhole.com last year. I am sure this is a result of that purchase. Cool technology.

Only the US. What about your brothazzzzz to the North?
It works for Canada as well…

These guys are partnering with Google and currently have a lot of international maps (and similar technology):
Good stuff though. The possibilities with the google databases are endless.

Yes, but only a few Canadian cities near the U.S. border have any level of detail (i.e. individual street level maps) including Vancouver and Toronto.
Those of us further north (way, way further north!) are out of luck - and that’s a shame because the google maps are slick!
Isn’t it just ice up there anyway?

Right now yes… ice and snow. Thank God I had a new furnace installed for my igloo this year or I’d be frozen solid by now ![]()
Seriously though: I haven’t seen the surface of my road for 2 months now - it is either burried under 6 inches of packed snow or Google had it eradicated so that they didn’t have to worry about drawing it on their maps!
(Edited because my reply didn’t show up the first time I posted this!)
Le ressort vient et nous sortirons de nos igloos bientôt. Nous sommes également tout de langue française.
Spring is coming and we will be coming out of our igloos soon. We are also all french speaking.
(translated by Google because I failed grade 9 french class)

Tried and loved it. I was amazed at how well the zooming works. I zoomed in at was able to tell that I am wearing a red shirt. Amazing how they do that.
